About the sizes

YouTube Help gives a 16:9 aspect ratio and a minimum width of 640 pixels for thumbnails. This tool saves at 1280×720, which our landscape illustrations reach without being enlarged. Uploads from a phone are limited to 2MB (checked October 2026).

Blog header images are 1200×630, the size Facebook's developer documentation recommends for images in shared links.

The Instagram Help Center says photos are shown at up to 1080 pixels wide, and that aspect ratios between 1.91:1 and 4:5 are kept as they are. You can choose a square (1080×1080) or a portrait (1080×1350) image (checked October 2026).
